FreeBOLs.com (“FreeBOLs,” “we,” “us”) provides a free online Bill of Lading generator. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect and how we use it.

The short version: The tool runs in your browser. Your branding settings stay on your device. The only time information is sent to us is when you click Generate · Print / Save PDF — at that point the details you entered on that Bill of Lading are saved (one record per document). We don’t require an account, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t use advertising trackers.

1. Information stored on your device (not sent to us)

Your branding and customization — company name, uploaded logo, contact details, colors, and font — are saved in your browser’s local storage so the tool remembers them between visits. This stays on your device. You can clear it anytime with Reset to defaults in the Branding panel, or by clearing your browser data. (Note that your company name and contact text are also included in the record we save when you generate a BOL — see section 2.)

2. Information we collect when you generate a Bill of Lading

When you generate or print a BOL, we receive and store the information you entered for that document, which may include:

Document details (BOL / PRO number, dates, freight charge terms, service mode)
Carrier name, equipment / vehicle type, and MC / DOT number
Shipper, consignee, and bill-to names and addresses
Each pickup and delivery stop, on-site contacts, and reference / PO numbers
Commodity line items (description, quantity, packaging, weight, NMFC, freight class, hazmat flag)
Temperature settings, accessorials, special instructions, declared value / COD
Your company name and contact information (from your branding settings)
A timestamp, a generated submission ID, and a copy of the rendered document so it can be re-printed

We only receive the fields you fill in. We do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing history. As with any website, our hosting providers may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability.

3. How we use it

We use the information to operate the service, keep records of generated documents, prevent abuse, and improve the tool. We do not sell or rent your information.

4. Service providers

The site is hosted on Vercel, and generated-BOL records are stored using Google (Google Sheets / Apps Script). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms. If you select a non-default font, your browser loads it from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of delivering the font.

5. Cookies & analytics

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use your browser’s local storage only to remember your branding settings.

6. Data retention

We retain generated-BOL records for as long as needed to operate the service. You can ask us to delete a record you submitted (see section 8).

7. Security

Information is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold.

8. Your choices and requests

You can use the tool without entering any branding. You can clear your saved branding at any time. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of data associated with a BOL you generated, contact us at the address below and include the submission ID or document details so we can locate it.

9. Children

The service is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
